★The Vision★
This project is a visual exploration of David Bowie’s final masterpiece, Blackstar. It aims to translate the album’s haunting atmosphere, themes of mortality, and cosmic mystery into a tangible, industrial aesthetic.
The Concept
Moving beyond a traditional album cover, this work treats the music as a "classified transmission" or an "ancient relic." It combines brutalist design elements with a dark, monochrome palette to honor Bowie’s avant-garde legacy.
Tactile Textures
I utilized heavy grain and stony textures to give the visuals a physical, weathered feel, echoing the feeling of an unearthed artifact.
Typographic Language
The layout incorporates technical data sheets, celestial coordinates, and "warning" labels. This approach transforms the tracklist and credits into a cold, bureaucratic document from a distant future.
Iconography
Central to the design is a sculptural reimagining of the "Blind Prophet" from the Lazarus music video. By rendering the figure in stone, I wanted to represent the transition from the mortal man to an immortal icon.
